Investigators are recruiting children for a contact lens research study to determine whether soft bifocal contact lenses (typically used to help people older than 40 see up close) slow the progression of nearsightedness (difficulty seeing far away).

What Will Happen

  • Nine visits over a three year period
  • Randomly assigned to wear one of three contact lenses being used in the study: a spherical (regular) contact lens or one of two bifocal contact lenses

Benefits

Free eye care, contact lenses, contact lens solutions, and eye glasses (if frame allowance is not exceeded) during study participation.
